Description

Math might seem abstract, but it’s everywhere in everyday life. This course is designed to show you how math is used in real-world situations. With fun activities and interactive lessons, you’ll get to experience and practice how these concepts apply to real life. Major topics of this course include performing operations with rational numbers, solving equations and inequalities, and applying proportional relationships in two variables. You will also learn to analyze circle and cylinders, compare categorical and numerical data, and develop an understanding of probability.

Module One: Numerical Expressions

-Rewrite rational numbers in equivalent forms

-Evaluate expressions using the Laws of Exponents

-Generate equivalent expressions using the Laws of Exponents

-Add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers

-Solve real-world problems with rational numbers

-Solve mathematical problems using order of operations

Module Two: Algebraic Equations and Inequalities

-Add and subtract linear expressions

-Determine whether two linear expressions are equivalent

-Write one-step inequalities in one variable

-Solve one-step inequalities in one variable

-Graph solutions to one-step inequalities

-Write two-step equations in one variable

-Solve two-step equations in one variable

Module Three: Proportional Relationships

-Determine whether two quantities have a proportional relationship

-Translate between representations of a proportional relationship

-Determine the constant of proportionality

-Graph proportional relationships
